Eye Emergencies

When to seek immediate medical attention:
  • Pain or difficulty seeing
  • Pupil is unusual size or shape
  • Eyelid is cut or torn
  • Blood is evident in eye
  • One eye moves differently or not as well as the other
  • Double Vision
  • An object is in the eye or under the eyelid
  • One eye protrudes more than the other
  • If you get chemicals in your eye
  • Sudden loss of vision
  • Flashes of light with movement
  • Floaters (Cobweb effect)
In case of foreign material in eye:
  • Do NOT rub your eye
  • Flush eyes with saline solution or clean with tap water
  • If the object is still in your eye, or you believe it has caused further damage call our office immediately.
