COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMS

When was the last time you had a comprehensive eye exam?  If you have not had such an exam in a year or longer, it is time to schedule an appointment at Expert Eyecare by dialing (812) 346-2020.  We perform comprehensive eye exams to gauge patient eye health, identify existing issues and also to pinpoint developing issues.  Whether you are a parent of a little one, a single adult or an octogenarian, you need a yearly comprehensive eye exam to ensure your eyes are healthy and your current eyeglass/contact lens prescription is accurate.  Even infants between six months and a year old should be provided with a comprehensive baseline eye exam.  The eyes of little ones are particularly vulnerable.  An eye exam helps diagnose and also prevent visual conditions that might have a considerable impact down the line unless timely treatment is provided.  However, the eyes will continue to change throughout the aging process so everyone is encouraged to undergo a yearly comprehensive eye exam, regardless of their age.

Our comprehensive eye exam starts with a health history intake.  The optometrist will proceed to check your eye health with a series of tests that provide a highly precise and accurate evaluation.  The visual acuity component of the exam indicates the accuracy of vision both at a distance and close-up.  Refraction determines if the patient is nearsighted, farsighted or has astigmatism.  Additional components of the comprehensive eye exam include testing color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
